What type of disputes are best for AutoDecisioning?
Any payment type defined by an institution as being low-value is suitable for AutoDecisioning, based on each financial institution’s risk tolerance model. ATM and Debit card disputes often fall into this category and often represent the majority of total dispute volumes, which can automate a significant workload for back-office teams.
Is UBM usually adjusted once AutoDecision is in place?
Institutions with UBM greater than the cost of a merchant investigation (typically $20-$25) can reduce their UBM using AutoDecision to automate. To handle overwhelming payment dispute volumes, financial institutions often set UBMs higher, sometimes nearing $100, which adds up to a lot in UBM loss to meet regulatory timelines. With AutoDecision in place for low-value disputes, staff are more available to research higher dollar values; thus organizations often decide to lower the UBM level and investigate disputes that they otherwise would write-off as a loss.
Is there an extra cost for AutoDecision?
